Six Ways to Shake Up Your Influencer Strategy

Six Ways to Shake Up Your Influencer Strategy

February 24, 2020 6:00 am

Now that influencer marketing has been around for a few years, it’s easy for brands to get stuck in a rut and blend in with the crowd. Trending Family identified six tactics to help revive your influencer strategy and create content that stands out.

1. Hybrid Campaign

Hybrid campaigns pair influencers with professional videographers. This duo results in high-gloss content that has the familiar and accessible tone of influencer content, but the polish of traditional advertising.

Check it out! We conducted a hybrid campaign with influencer Gray Benko to promote Mueller’s Pasta. Click here to read our case study!

2. Always-on Campaigns

An always-on influencer campaign runs over the course of multiple months, with the same influencers posting multiple times. This allows for the brand to easily incorporate different themes and promotions throughout a large chunk of time, and allows the influencer to create more authentic content and show their audience that they have an ongoing, trusted relationship with the product. This can feel much more natural than a one-off promotion!

3. Story swipe-ups

In-feed Instagram posts don’t allow you to have a link in the caption – the user has to go to the influencer’s bio to click a proper link. Utilizing the swipe-up story feature (for accounts with over 10,000 followers) is an extremely effective way to drive traffic to your site. Swat.io has reported that Instagram stories with swipe-up links have an engagement rate between 15% and 20%.

4. Paid media

Amplifying sponsored posts as ads on Facebook and Instagram can drive your reach numbers through the roof. Not only do you have a larger audience when you boost posts, you can also set your target audience to be incredibly granular, meaning those who you reach will be most likely to have interest in your product.

Trending Family has seen CPV cut in half when a brand utilized influencer-created content as paid media, instead of professionally-produced ads. Influencer content feels more natural to the platform, giving audiences a higher tolerance for viewing the paid media.

5. Hyper-local influencers

Using influencers who are trusted resources of information in a specific region are incredibly effective at reaching granular audiences. They can easily create specific content that will resonate with the target market. As a bonus, pairing hyper-local content with geo-targeted paid media makes for ultra efficient ads.

6. Repurposing influencer content

As a brand, you’ve put time and money into creating the perfect influencer content to promote your product. Instead of just having the influencer post the content once, repurpose it for your brand’s O&O social channels. Getting more mileage out of the influencer content also saves you from creating more original content in-house.
