Three major digital platforms have announced new statistics and advertising features. A recent survey by Google revealed YouTube dominates 50 percent of domestic viewers ages 18 to 54 watching digital video on connected television.
Although a growing number of viewers are turning away from purchasing cable subscriptions, there is still a demand for the television medium. On social media, Instagram has stated that brands will now be able to advertise on Instagram Stories, allowing ads up to 15 seconds long appear between a Story. Twitter now also offers a select group of advertisers guaranteed video ads with a similar buying process to mainstream television advertising.
