The holidays are a peak time for marketing with brands from all categories wanting to get their products and services out there. The competition is hot for the highest visibility and it can often be difficult to make your way to the top.
Influencer marketing is unique in that it allows brands to reach niche audiences that broader forms, such as TV or radio ads, cannot. Even then, there are hundreds of thousands of influencer posts to compete with, so it’s key to make your campaign highly visible. Read on to see four different ways you can make your holiday campaign stand out.
Some of the most exciting and memorable parts of the holiday season are experiences – putting up lights, visiting Santa at the mall, buying and wrapping gifts for your family and baking family recipes together, just to name a few. Using these experiences creates a unique opportunity for a brand to connect on a deeper, more personal level with their audience.
April and Justin Moore paired up with Taubman Shopping Centers to drive foot traffic to its “Santa’s Flight Academy.” This one-of-a-kind, immersive holiday experience features a giant re-imagination of the North Pole with state-of-the-art technology enabling children to become members of Santa’s flight crew. And what better way to showcase this event than to have a family visit?

Letting Kids Choose
One of the largest trends in influencer marketing that’s targeted towards families is letting the kids choose. Allowing children to truly lead and be the main stars gives the content a more relatable vibe. It makes it easier for the audience to think “Oh, my daughter would love that toy,” or “My son has been looking for something exactly like this!”
Influencer and photographer Gray Benko paired up with Big Lots in a video where her daughter, Farris, made her own special Christmas cookie recipe. And while it might be safe to say these cookies won’t be on your dessert table this year, the video is undeniably whimsical and brings along that sense of joy and innocence only brought to us by the holidays.
Last holiday season, Trending Family partnered with 8 different influencers to promote new LeapFrog products. Influencers shared how these products would make great holiday gifts for young family members, as they are both fun and educational.
We activated each of the 8 influencers across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. With a mix of integrated and dedicated videos, as well as 2 amplifying posts per social channel, this campaign received a total of nearly 1.3 million engagements.
Holiday Gift Guides
What better way to promote multiple products than creating a holiday gift guide? Influencers are trusted and looked up to by their audiences. Having them feature these “must-have products” makes a lasting impression in the mind of the consumer.
Mommy-vlogger Brianna K teamed up with the couponing site RetailMeNot to purchase a variety of Christmas gifts for her young children. Using the concept of a Holiday Gift Guide, Brianna was able to easily and authentically showcase the variety of RetailMeNot’s offerings.

Though Gates correctly foresaw the rise of Internet advertising, he couldn’t have predicted the landscape we now find ourselves in – a world of ad-blockers, spam filters, […]
